About Us
Palmetto Civics is a nonpartisan, year-round platform dedicated to empowering Black youth in Darlington County, South Carolina, through political education rooted in Political Social Work strategies. Unlike traditional "Get Out the Vote" campaigns that end outreach efforts once elections are over, Palmetto Civics offers ongoing, locally relevant resources designed to resonate with the unique experiences of rural Black youth. Our mission is to foster lasting engagement in state and local politics, equipping young people with the knowledge and tools to drive meaningful change in their communities.
