Election Day

A Message To Young Voters,

Voting’s just the start! Whether your candidate won or lost, staying involved after the election is where the real impact happens. Elected officials make decisions that affect you all the time, not just during campaign season. By staying tuned in, you remind them who they’re representing and make sure your voice keeps pushing things forward. Democracy isn’t just Election day, it’s an ongoing conversation and process, which you play a role in it year-round.

A Message To Parents,

Traditional "Get Out the Vote" efforts often focus only on youth, missing the role of parents. At Palmetto Civics, we recognize family as a young person's first political influence, with families who vote together raising lifelong voters. In today’s polarized climate, parents may seek ways to discuss politics with teens. To support these conversations, Palmetto Civics offers a short video with tips to engage your family. Political Social Work A Tool For Change

Political social work, defined as the practice of using social work principles to influence policy, governance, and community engagement, empowers rural youth to engage in local electoral politics by breaking down barriers to participation and fostering civic education. By connecting young people with community leaders and emphasizing their role in local governance, political social work helps cultivate an informed, active youth electorate. For more details on these strategies, refer to the accompanying video. To play video hover the pointer over the video.
